mountain of the cannibal gods the dvd download After reading another article on best practises for link building, I decided to write this article. It came out as fast as my fingers could type (which is not very fast at all) so I hope I haven’t missed any of the main points. I thought it best to divide this article into three parts.

Getting inbound or “back links” to your site has always been important, but over the years the goalposts have moved several times, and now there is different procedures and values to consider, depending on who you listen to.

Firstly, as with all forms of SEO (search Engine Optimisation) linking is cloaked in mystique and swarming with self-confessed “experts” and “gurus” who all have their own cult followings and individual ways of saying pretty much similar things, give or take a few tips. The tip here is to stay ahead with those that are at the peak and not read the sheep following behind (this is not always an easy!)

I do not profess to be an SEO Expert or Guru, and suggest that you be the judge of anything you read and not be swayed by such bold, overused declarations.

Ok, let’s start with a working definition:

divx barbie mariposa and her butterfly fairy friends Link building is the process of actively pursuing back links to your web or blog site from search engines, directories, web sites, blogs, and social media sites.

It has always been evident that having a high number of other sites linking to your web or blog site was a good way of getting a higher ranking in most search engines.

Furthermore, Google appear to value good quality links as highly, if not more so, than traffic volume, topic relevance, quality of content and trust. But what is so important here, is to understand how Google place value on links into your site.

From here in I will use Google only because in my experience, if you can crack Google the rest will follow. Also, all the clients I have ever worked for or with have always been concerned with one burning question: is the site number 1 in Google?

So what should you be looking for in a link that will tick all the right boxes for Google, and therefore help your page ranking?

looking forward to seeing part two and finding out your thoughts on quality links. It is easy to get sucked in by the ‘experts’, I am seeing the same tips that I started seeing two years ago, only wrapped in a different text! I am sure if anyone does know the magic formula, they wouldn’t pass it on to others for free.
