WHAT IS A BLOG?

Blogs started life as simple personal online diaries known as ‘web logs’ which became abbreviated to ‘blogs’. For the past few years blogging has now become an integral part of any business online marketing mix and in the process become a very useful business marketing tool.

BLOGS versus WEBSITES

More companies are now considering using WordPress and other blog software to develop their company website. This raises both positive and negative issues. Positive as blogs publish ‘posts’ by using “push technology” that sends your website updates to the search engines for immediate online publication. But using WordPress, or any ‘off-the-shelf’ solution for that matter can be troublesome if you are looking for advance bespoke functionality.

A blog can therefore be a website but a website cannot easily act like a blog, without development time running so high that it is unproductive to do so. The current Buzzin Fly website is an example of how you can make use of WordPress blog technology to power a company website.

WHAT DOES A BLOG INCLUDE?

Generally speaking, blogs tend to have a few things in common:

Content written about a specific subject

Specific content = relevant keyword rich pages

Each ‘POST’ indexed as an individual pages with its own keywords

Blog posts include in-context ‘textlinks’ which is the most powerful way of advertising your business

A list of “useful links” known as a ‘blogroll’

Allow readers to publish their comments to your site, making it truly interactive – in the process updating the content

Allow other sites to use content via an RSS Feed (Good content will be promoted by others similarly to viral marketing)

Regularly updated relevant, well-written content

IMPORTANT POINT

All the above mean that Google loves blogs more than websites & accredit them accordingly!

CORPORATE BLOGGING

When writing for a blog about your business be careful not to oversell your products & services. Be transparent and open, & do not attempt to overly censor negative comments. By answering comments you are engaging with potential customers.

SETTING UP YOUR OWN BLOG

When setting up your own blog consider the following points:

How interesting is the subject?

How many readers will you attract?

How much material can you write?

How much time can you spend on not only writing for, but managing a blog?

What shall I blog about?

Offer good free advice

Be opinionated

Engage your readers & invite comments by ending on a question

Alternatively, if you don’t think you have enough content or time….

Be a guest blogger for popular blogs with a good Google ranking such as Buzzin Media or pay for others to write articles with backlinks to your company website.

HOW USING BLOGS IS A GOOD WAY TO PROMOTE YOUR BUSINESS

Advertising Opportunities - banner advertising, textlinks, advertorials

One Way Links from highly relevant sources

Increased traffic = more potential customers

Increased visibility

Higher ranking in Google and other search engines

So, considering all the ways in which a blog can help promote your business & how blogs work so well with Google you now need to consider how much potential business you are missing.

Pay per click (PPC) advertising is less commonly known as sponsored links, sponsored adverts and Cost per click (CPC). It is an excellent way to place your adverts on the first page of most popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Live!

What is Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising?

Pay per click or PPC is a way of advertising online whereby you only pay a publisher when someone clicks on your link. Generally, you do not pay to place the advert.

PPC advertising allows you to target quality traffic rather than quantity by only appearing in a search results list if it matches a search phrase or keyword. This way of targeted marketing is very useful but can be costly and a waste of time unless the PPC campaigns are setup correctly in the first instance.

PPC advertising is most commonly found on search engines, and as the most popular search engine on the planet the best place to start your PPC advertising is with Google. But be careful. Whereas Google suggest setting up your own campaigns is a very simple process, they fail to explain that to maximise your profits and return on investment (ROI) PPC campaigns are best setup by someone with both experience and the time to manage them.

Here at Buzzin Fly we have had many calls from businesses large and small who have been duped into thinking setting up a successful PPC campaign will be quick and simple. Only to find little or in most cases, no new business before or after they pay Google a big fat cheque for the cost of several hundred or thousand clicks!

The truth is it is very easier to get quantity traffic to your website via paid advertising. But it isn’t quantity traffic you are need. It’s quality traffic, potential customers who because their search matches your campaign search terms offers a greater potential for a sale.

Google’s PPC advertising is called Google AdWords. This system is more advanced than most. Better to work with if you have experience, harder to get right if you haven’t as there is more functionality and ways to maximise your campaigns.

The most common mistake we see is where a company has decided to setup its own PPC campaigns in Google AdWords using Broad Match search rules only. There are three ways to add keywords to your campaigns: Broad Match, Phrase Match and Exact Match.

If one of the keywords you wish to be listed for has more than one word, internet marketing, for example then a broad match could show your advert for both or either of those keywords. A Phrase Search requires the person searching to include both words in the correct order, but the search can include other words too. For example, internet marking in the uk. The third and best way to attract quality traffic through a PPC campaign is to use an Exact Match. For your advert to appear the keyword phrase has to match the search term exactly.

Just armed with simple information it is easy to understand that an Exact Match will offer less “clicks” but the highest sales potential; whereas a Broad Match will bring you the most traffic but with less potential for a sale.

This is by far the most common mistake made by companies attempting to save money by setting up a PPC campaign themselves instead of outsourcing the work to experience internet marketing professionals like Buzzin Fly.

There are plenty of other things to consider when using PPC advertising that will take up your valuable time. So why not contact us now and let us manage a successful PPC campaign for you, allowing you the time to manage your business.

What is breadcrumb navigation?

Breadcrumb navigation is a way of showing the path a visitor has taken through a website. Each page that is visited is shown as a text link. The breadcrumb “trail” is commonly shown at or near the top of the page. See Midkent.ac.uk as an example.

Just below the main horizontal navigation bar the breadcrumb trail shows the visitor has viewed three pages: Home, About Us and Medway Campus. Each one of these can be a text link, allowing the visitor to retrace their steps.

Why has breadcrumb navigation just become even more important?

Including a breadcrumb trail has always been seen as a value added function. Good for usability and simpler navigation purposes. Both are true. But breadcrumb navigation just got a whole lot more important to every company website who understands the importance of ticking every box specific to how Google eventually ranks your website.

Google is to place importance on breadcrumb navigation

Google has decided it is going to change the way they display search engine results. To make search result links more user friendly they are going to list the name of the actual page you are about to click to view.

So, instead of the MidKent College page example we used earlier being listed as: http://www.midkent.ac.uk/about-us/new-medway-campus it is now going to be shown using the breadcrumb trail navigation: midkent.ac.uk/ About Us > Medway Campus.

Not only is the link itself more user friendly and simple to read, Google are about to reward websites that employ breadcrumb navigation, too.

So if your business website doesn’t already use a breadcrumb trail to help your website visitors, contact Buzzin Fly now on 01634 322 721 and let us help you gain valuable search engine ranking over your competitors.

Last year, more money was spent on the internet than in High Street shops in the lead up to Christmas, and the forecast this year is that even more spending will be conducted from the comfort and warmth of customers homes and offices. And in the process they will be avoiding queues, traffic jams and that ubiquitous last minute rush, let alone the cold north wind!

But whether your business needs an online shop to sell products and services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year or you need to use a website to promote your company, a website is most definitely not just for Christmas!

And here’s 10 reasons why your business needs a company website.

10 Reasons Why a Company Website Could Help Promote Your Business

1. A company website helps to clarify your products and services and promote your business to potential customers.

2. A company website makes it easier for potential customers to contact you. Be sure to include a call to action, such as your telephone number, on every page.

3. A company website can be used to attract customers by offering free advice, free information and free give-aways such as an e-book or downloadable PDF. Apparently 61% of people using the internet are searching for information. If your website ranks high in the major search engines and is seen to be giving away useful free advice, you will be seen as experts in your field.

4. A company website allows potential customers to feel in control of viewing your products and services rather than being confronted by a ‘pushy’ salesman which may turn them away.

5. A company website allows visitors and customers alike to shop and return at a time that’s convenient for them. This is why online shopping has become so popular in the lead up to Christmas.

6. Unlike a catalogue, brochure or a traditional media advertisment, a company website can be regularly updated. New products and special offers can be frequently updated to attract more customers.

7. Visitors to your website can leave their contact details and receive a free email newsletter, allowing you to be more proactive by using ‘push marketing’ techniques.

8. Website traffic analysis can tell you which product pages and offers are most popular and those that aren’t, allowing you to tailor your products and services to your target audience.

9. An online e-commerce solution will allow you to sell your products and make money even when you are asleep!

10. A company website allows you to set up a program to allow affiliates to sell your products for you.

So if you are looking to promote your business online in 2010 or your current company website is not working for you, please contact me on +44 (0)1634 322 721 or email web-info@buzzinfly.co.uk and I will be full of Christmas spirit (not literally) and only too willing to give you some free advice on how a company website can promote your business in 2010.

Happy Christmas and a Propserous New Year from all of us at Buzzin Fly!

When building a database-driven website there is plenty of things to consider but the loading speed of a website can lose your business traffic as well as ranking with Google.

That’s right, Google rewards good quality, relevant, authoritative fast websites. So it is essential that your website developers use industry standards compliant code that loads pages a speedily as possible.

A recent survey from WebCop show that 52% of your website visitors will not wait too long for your website to load. And the same survey also revealed that a large majority of business owners believe their websites loaded fast enough.

In the current economic climate it is imperative for every business to make sure their company website gives the right first impression, including a professional look, great functionality and pages that load quickly to keep the attention of its visitors.

Most businesses in the UK are now familiar with the importance of ranking high in Google and the other main search engines and therefore losing website visitors, and potential customers so cheaply is inexcusable.

52% of people click away from websites because they’re too slow

91% of website owners however, believe their site is fast enough

54% of website owners are unaware that Google rewards faster websites

That’s why Buzzin Fly uses MySQL database and PHP programming language by choice. It is powerful and secure, yet builds functionality with less code allowing pages to load much quicker than other similar databases and programming languages.

If developed correctly, MySQL and PHP, along with the valuable use of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) will give you a faster, more successful company website that not only attracts web traffic, but keeps visitors longer.

If your web stats show traffic is getting no further than the first page of your website, you consider your website to be too slow or have received feedback to suggest this, then contact us now and let Buzzin Fly help make your website work for you.

There are several ways to help your website move up the natural listings. Here is a listed of the main things to consider:

If you concentrate on high ranking with Google, the other main search engines will follow.

Website Copywriting
The most intelligent search engines such as Google, will read the content of your website (including extra text written in the code that doesn’t always appear on the page) and consider the keyword density and page relevance to a given topic. Your website page content should consider both search engine activity but also use marketing copy to sell your products and services. We can rewrite your website copy with these two factors in mind.

Google AdWords (PPC)
In most cases PPC campaigns are not set up to target the most appropriate keywords or optimised to focus on obtaining quality traffic and therefore can be more expensive than necessary due to loss leaders or time-wasters. We can review and manage your Google AdWords account for you. The cost is dependent on the amount of time you want us to spend per month. PPC will not only make your website more visible, it will also help attract more traffic.

Blogs & News Sites
Sponsored articles, advertorials, text links and banner advertising can all help promote your company website and increase website traffic. We can review the most appropriate sites for your business and manage online campaigns for you. The cost is dependent on the amount of time you want us to spend and also an advertising budget.

Strategic Link Building
Google ranks pages on many values but most important is relevancy of the content, authority (history) of the website domain itself, levels of traffic and the amount of good quality, inbound links from relevant sites. Increasing your website’s inbound links is crucial. We can work on a monthly campaign to find and request relevant, highly ranked link building with other sites. In some cases sites may charge a fee for a one-way link.

Advanced Website Traffic Analysis
Finally, depending on the amount of internet marketing, it is crucial to use advanced website traffic analysis software to monitor the results.

There is no point spending valuable time and money on any forms of marketing and advertising if you don’t monitor and analyse the results!

We can add an advanced real-time traffic analysis software to your website for £50 one-off setup fee + £20 per month for up to 10,000 page views per month.

Reporting
We can create a monthly, quarterly or bi-annual internet marketing report listing the work undertaken, results and recommendations for £200 per report.

The cost of all internet marketing work is £50 per hour. It is difficult to price a bespoke program because it is in part dependent on your budget.

Buzzin Fly - Internet Marketing Professionals
What we recommend at Buzzin Fly is that once we agree on the internet marketing services that will give you the best results for your budget, we manage that program for six months. We feel confident that the results will speak for themselves and your business will have received such a good ROI (return on investment) that we will be discussing how to spend more time to gain better results for the next six months!

You have 46 seconds to comply!

A recent survey stated that a visitor will spend an average of just 46 seconds on your website before moving on to the next site (Source: Clickz.com). The next website they visit could be one of your competitors, and they could have been your next client.

The current UK economy makes it difficult enough for small businesses to compete and survive, but the competition you will face online is going to be tenfold and so it is imperative that you consider the following tips to guide you towards better online business success for you and your company.

The total number of registered domain names now stands at over 60 million. Some of these domain names are owned by your business competitors. Only a fraction of these websites will have considered the following tips. This is your advantage.

Know what your target audience want
Research your target audience, and then research and consider their requirements.

eCommerce will increase your potential marketplace but it needs adaptability, flexibility and end-user focus to be successful

A good business plan
Whether you’re a thinker or a doer, behind all successful business ideas there’s a great business plan.

Your business success will rely heavily on managing your revenue source, knowing where and when to expect your break-even points and most importantly, by making your business plan a rolling plan and not a static one.

Buzzin Fly can offer many years of eCommerce experience and recommend online business strategies at no extra cost; and because our development is bespoke, we can help you make the right choices when it comes to design, development and payment solutions.

By being 100% in control of your business you will be more confident of your business success. eCommerce needs a good idea, a solid business plan, the right software and developers.

Choosing the right Developers
Even if you have programming knowledge and experience we would always recommend you work with a good professional web development team, preferably Buzzin Fly!

You should be focusing all your energy and time on managing the business, not the website.

Work with a company, not an individual.

Choosing the right eCommerce solution
Every “expert” will have their own opinion on the best eCommerce solution. We believe our advice is the best independent and impartial advice we can give.

When choosing your web developers ask them what eCommerce software is best for you and your business and why. If they say any of the following, we would suggest they are thinking of themselves, and not your business.

a) We have built our own eCommerce software
b) We use an off-the-shelf “Shop-in-Box” solution
c) Not sure, this is our first eCommerce site
d) We were hoping you wouldn’t ask
e) What’s eCommerce?

Your online shop needs to be seen & leave a good impression
Just like window shopping in a local shopping centre, your online eCommerce shop needs to entice people in and help to show them around. Visitors need to find what they are looking for as quickly and easily as possible.

Your website needs to give a great first impression, and leave visitors wanting to return and possibly even telling others to visit the site because of the good experience they have had, whether that be the usability, cool design, available product range, competitive prices or better still, a mixture of all of the above.

Users will feel more obliged to do business with you if your eCommerce store is easy to use, allows the customer to find what they want and feel in-control of their actions. This last point is very important. If the customer feels in control of the situation, they are more likely to proceed and buy your products and services.

Push products towards your target audience
When you walk into a shop you will be faced with sale items, new arrivals and this week’s best sellers. You need to use the same marketing tactics and have your best selling products, new arrivals or those products you wish to sell, visible to all your visitors. This is called ‘push marketing’. It is when you go to a store for one thing and come out with another!

Place your best products or services, or those you want to promote, on your home page. Make them stand out so visitors to your online shop notice them.

Learn to Manage your eCommerce Admin
Backend operations are the backbone of your online storefront. Spend time analysing and getting to know the backend administrative area provided with your eCommerce solution.

And remember… it doesn’t matter how successful you are, your nearest competitor is only a click away!

Strategic link building is the most important part of any SEO program, and offering blogs free content with back-links is a perfect way to receive a better search engine ranking.

If you want to increase the Google ranking

my favorite year movie

of your company website you must optimise your content to make it as relevant as possible to the keywords your target audience are using to find your products and services.

Your website needs history. A new domain doesn’t carry the same weight as one listed for several years.

But most essential to your Google ranking, is the inbound links your website receives from other good quality, relevant, high ranking sites.

Content relevancy, authority and inbound links - together, this is known as ‘Google Juice’.

Considering you already have relevancy and history on your side, ‘Google juice’ is all about managing a strategic link building program.

Google rates inbound links very highly, and the search ranking your website receives is based largely on the quantity and quality of other sites linking to it. There is difference of opinions, but I am still convinced a good quality, relevant one-way link is treated as a ‘premium link’ by Google. But be careful. Some SEO companies are still promoting three-way linking as a way to beat Google into thinking a reciprocal link is in fact a one-way link; and this is not the case.

If in doubt, my SEO policy is simple - Don’t try to cheat Google. Play within the rules and only employ “white hat” SEO marketing techniques. Google is both clever and strict.

Over the past several years, a whole new industry has grown around the provision of SEO and link building. Many SEO companies are using automated software; and though it is time-consuming, more costly and labour intensive, the best results will come to those who use humans and understanding, not software and logic.

There are different ways for your website to receive good quality one-way, in-bound (also known as back-links) from high ranking and relevant websites, but one of the most successful that I have used is offering good quality content to high ranking websites and blogs, in exchange for back-links to my clients’ website.

death on the nile movie

By writing good quality original editorial content that has relevant anchor text and links to relevant pages within your website, Google considers the links to be of higher quality than a simple link from a banner advertisement or ‘Useful Links’ page. As an added bonus, research suggests a higher click-through rate on links with editorials against stand-alone text links or banners.

Articles can be given away as free content in exchange for these highly prized links. This form of creating ‘Google Juice’ can be used to target high ranking websites, but in reality works perfectly with the millions of blogs that are on the web today.

Blogs are continually adding new content, so are always on the lookout for good quality, relevant articles. Content can be added to a blog as a simple post or can be part of an agreement to add regular content to fixed pages and used as ‘online advertorials’. This is a new idea I call ‘hosted sponsored marketing pages.’

Link building is the most important part of any SEO program. So make sure you get it right. Employ an internet marketing company that you can trust to use white hat marketing strategies and manage your strategic link building program.

The most common problem we hear at Buzzin Fly is when a business attempts to set up a Google AdWords PPC campaign with no experience. Initially they are excited by receiving a large influx of traffic, but then deflated when invoiced by Google at the same time as receiving little or no return on their investment.

The result of this first impression for many SME’s or small business is to claim ‘PPC doesn’t work for us!’

But we have turned around the fortunes of many businesses with a well managed Google or Yahoo PPC campaign that giving a business good leads and a regular stream of revenue.

free lady chatterley s lover The main culprit I see causing this problem is a list of keywords using a Broad Match.

There are three types of keyword matches, and as a general rule a broad match will offer you the highest CPC (Cost per Click) with the lowest returns.

download escaflowne dvd

Broad Match
If your keywords list uses a broad match it means that, where a particular keyword uses two or more words, a match will take place for one or more of those words. For example: setting a broad match for ‘web site design’ means your PPC advert can be shown when someone searches for anyone of those words.

A PPC broad match works like a catch-all; and the problem is that those three words can mean something completely different when used with other searches, ie spider’s web, building site or interior design.

The other two, Phrase Match and Exact Match are much more concise and therefore offer much higher rates of return; and as they are less popular, can offer a lower CPC, too.

Phrase Match
Using the Phrase Match in your Google PPC keywords list will help to focus on the relevancy of the search results and whether your campaign matches that of the actual search term, itself. By placing keywords in “speech marks” it tells Google that your campaign should only be listed where all the keywords are used in the order you have written them. But it also allows other words to be included within the search phrase, too.

For example, if we had listed “web site design” then our campaign would be shown for the following Google searches:
web site design
download jungle cubs
web site design in London
web site graphic design

The only stipulation is that all the keywords are included, in the order you have written.

gate the dvd

Exact Match
Generally speaking, listing your keywords using Exact Match will reward you with the highest returns; and in some cases, for the least CPC.

To use the Exact Match your Google PPC keyword must include [brackets]. An Exact Match will only show your campaign if a Google search matches your keyword list, exactly. A Google search for web site design would show your Google PPC campaign advert if you had listed [web site design] only.

When Buzzin Fly set up a new campaign for a client we would test the water by using all three keyword search terms: broad match, phrase match and exact match. We would then collate and analyse the statistics of the traffic and lead generation reports, and build a much more focused and concise campaign depending on the results.

When managing and monitoring our clients Yahoo and Google PPC campaigns we offer the best results and a high return on investment (ROI), no matter what industry or business, big or small.

We do not use automated bidding software and we do not outsource any of our services.

scarce movie download

Many Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Internet Marketing companies now use automated software to manage customer accounts. These systems do not give the customer a good return. They simply give the unscrupulous marketing company increased profits by spending less time managing campaigns.

Buzzin Fly offer Pay Per Click (PPC) Management for clients as a stand-alone service or as part of a complete Internet Marketing programme. We also provide a one-off Google or Yahoo PPC Setup service which allows you to take control of your own PPC management knowing that your campaigns will offer you good leads and potential customers.

Internet Marketing, especially SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), is more popular with UK businesses than ever before.

Self-employed business persons, SME’s and trans-global companies are all fully aware that having a professional looking website will have a positive impact on your business. But a company website is nothing, if it is not visible in Google; and all internet marketing services rely on one main component – website analytics.

download speed racer movie

Website analytic reports need to be analysed and recommendations followed if you are to optimise your business website ranking with the search engines.

Measuring the results of your page views, the time each visitor spends on your site, which sites and search engines are sending you the most traffic, which search terms are being used to find you, and the most popular pages on your site, is all useful information that needs to be reported and analysed if your internet marketing program is going to be worth anything at all.

Web Analytics is at the core of every single aspect of Internet Marketing.

We use two different programs to report on our clients’ websites – AWstats wall street download and our own more advanced professional web analytics program.

five people you meet in heaven the dvdrip download

Awstats is a web traffic reporting program that offers a considerable amount of reporting information including page views, unique monthly users, most popular search terms and inbound links.

AWstats is offered FREE OF CHARGE to all our clients.

The Buzzin Fly Web Stats Pro software is an advanced program that offers much more functionality and reporting, and is recommended for businesses that are employing an ongoing internet marketing program.

Our Web Stats Pro software is particularly good when monitoring PPC campaigns as it will list the exact keyword of key phrase that was used even when it is not listed in your PPC keyword list! It will also track a visitor’s point of entry through to a point of sale, and state whether the lead originated via a search engines natural listing or a paid inclusion or PPC campaign. This information is crucial, for instance, when determining how effective your budget is being spent between PPC and SEO.

download devil s tomb the online

Our advance tool is charged by page views - £20 per month for up to 10,000 page impressions.

Whether your budget spend allows you to be more proactive in marketing your company website and warrants advanced analytics and reporting; or you simply want to collect basic website traffic data, one thing is for sure – you are wasting your money if you are not analysing your website stats.

Buzzin Fly works with UK businesses in offering bespoke internet marketing services tailored for your business needs. We offer monthly web analytics reporting and recommendations as part of our highly successful internet marketing programs.
